Kate has spent most of her career supporting leaders and practitioners in communities, organisations, and government to think critically and evaluatively about the quality and value of what they do; and to then develop their capacity to demonstrate this value in useful and meaningful ways. She has worked in the fields of evaluation, evaluation capacity building and research since the late 1980s. Kate started The Knowledge Institute Ltd (www.knowledgeinstitute.co.nz ) in 2002 after more than a decade working in policy and evaluation in the government sector. The Knowledge Institute specializes in evaluation, evaluative thinking and practice, developmental evaluation, evaluation training and evaluative capacity building and development. Since 2007, the Knowledge Institute has been a member of the Kinnect Group (www.kinnect.co.nz), which combines the strengths of four experienced evaluators.
